Welcome to the first Rhythmic Gymnastics Battle!

This new concept is probably the most exciting part of the weekend for the elite level gymnasts!

(please note that this is not the same as the knockout tournaments that take place in USA and Italy)
Entry Every gymnast in the competition is eligible to take part in the battle, although only 1 gymnast from each club may qualify.
Qualification • The 4 gymnasts with the highest total difficulty score (DB+DA) in a single routine from the whole competition will qualify to enter the battle.
• If any qualifying gymnasts are unavailable for the battle (which will take place at the end of Sunday), or they do not wish to take part in the battle, or are from the same club as a higher scoring gymnast, the next highest scoring gymnasts qualify.
Knockout • The 4 gymnasts will grouped at random in pairs and each pair will compete in a battle.
• The 2 winners of these 2 qualifying battles will then compete against each other in the final battle.
Battle Rules • Each battle will comprise of up to 4 rounds, each of which may be won by either gymnast.
• The gymnast winning the most rounds will win the battle.
• At the start of the battle the two gymnasts (Gymnast A and Gymnast B), together with their coaches, will take to the carpet.
• During the round itself, only the gymnast and her coach (if she wishes) will be on the carpet, the others will have to stand behind the red line.
• In the first round Gymnast A will be given 10 seconds to perform a risk with any apparatus.
• The risk will be judged by at least two brevet judges.
• Gymnast B will then be given 20 seconds to "respond" to Gymnast A with a risk of her choosing with any apparatus. The apparatus does not need to be the same. Note that coaches will also be invited to the carpet to accompany their gymnasts and assist in choosing the element.
• A point will be given to the gymnast with the highest value of risk awarded in that round.
• If both gymnasts score the same, a point will be given to each gymnast.
• The second round will start with Gymnast B and then Gymnast A will have to respond.
• In every round the first gymnast will be given 10 seconds to perform the risk and the second gymnast will be given 20 seconds to respond.
• A gymnast can only peform an identical risk with the same apparatus once.
• If after 4 rounds the scores are tied, all the values from each of their 4 risks will be added together to find a winner. Any responding gymnast must thefore ensure that her risk is performed even when she thinks she can't match her opponent in that round.
• If after 4 rounds the scores are tied and the sum of all their risks are the same, it will go to sudden death until there is a winner. Gymnast A and Gymnast B will alternate in the same fashion as the rest of the battle.
Fee The battle is free.
Music The gymnast does not supply music for the battle.
The music will be provided by the organiser and the same music will be used for both gynmasts in the battle.

Apparatus awards For all individuals and groups in each category.
Apparatus awards will be ranked by dense ranking.
In addition, UK level 0,1,2 categories may be automatically sub-categorised
to ensure that everyone gets to go on the podium.
All around awards Gold/silver/bronze for individuals in each category doing 3 routines.
Team Awards for top 3 teams.
Battle Award for the winner of the battle.
Special awards Miss Artistry (×4)
Miss Smile (×4)
Miss Wonderland (×4)
Best Coach This will be decided at the end of Sunday!
Gifts Each participating gymnast will receive Rhythmic Wonderland gifts.

The most beautiful part of the day will be the professional gala show!
Designed to inspire gymnasts and parents alike, this show will feature a high end technical production akin to a west end theatre experience!
Note that the gala show is a professional show. Gymnasts may not register to be in the gala show themselves.
